Hi there, my name is Carey, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s University in Calgary and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University.
I completed my internship and residency at Calgary Counselling Centre, where I received extensive training in supporting individuals experiencing depression, including training from Dr. Michael Yapko on one of the most common mental health concerns in the world.
I enjoy working with teens, adults, and couples who may be navigating anxiety, depression, academic stress, burnout, body image concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, perfectionism, self-esteem, relationship challenges, trauma, workplace stress, worry, overthinking, and difficulties with emotion regulation.
My approach looks at the whole person, including your thoughts, emotions, relationships, life experiences, environment, and personal strengths. I draw from a variety of evidence-based and insight-oriented therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment-based therapy, Gottman Method, mindfulness-based therapy, person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), reality therapy, and strengths-based therapy.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a warm, safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you feel supported in exploring what matters most to you. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of your next step, we can work together to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Navigating emotional, relational, or life transitions can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re carrying more than you can put into words. My goal as a therapist is to create a warm, supportive space where you feel understood, grounded, and safe to explore your experiences at your own pace.
I believe that healing begins with connection. Together, we work to build insight, strengthen your sense of self, and develop practical tools that help you move forward with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re struggling with the impact of past experiences or trying to rebuild in the present, you don’t have to face it alone.
I specialize in supporting individuals and couples working through trauma, PTSD, relational challenges, sex and intimacy concerns, desire discrepancies, emotional disconnection, anxiety, depression, and caregiver burnout. I also work with seniors navigating life transitions, identity changes, and loss. As a PACT-trained couples therapist, I help partners deepen their emotional bond, improve communication, and create healthier patterns within their relationship.
My approach integrates a blend of evidence-based and expressive therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based strategies, somatic approaches, attachment-focused work, and art-based therapy techniques. These tools help clients process experiences safely while reconnecting with a sense of agency, regulation, and resilience.
Whether you are healing from the past, strengthening your relationships, or rediscovering your own inner stability, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and support.
