Hello! My name is Jocelan Ireland. I am a registered social worker with over 20 years of experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences. As a Métis from the Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan and MNS, I have served in various roles within Indigenous communities. Through my own personal journey, I have found the value of healing through culture.

I earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria in 2004 and a Master’s in Social Work from Dalhousie University in 2022. My training includes Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed Practice, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. Recently, I also completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In my practice, I utilize a strength-based approach to support my clients.

I am dedicated to fostering safe and non-judgmental therapeutic relationships that promote trust, growth, and a caring environment. My goal is to support you in achieving positive change and reaching your personal goals. Along the way, we will share moments of laughter and fun, proving that therapy can indeed be an enjoyable journey. I will creatively provide you with evidence-based treatment strategies and coping techniques, helping you progress towards living your best life.

I offer individual therapy sessions with clients to support them to improve their ability to manage challenges; such as anxiety, trauma, unhelpful thinking patterns, unhealthy emotional reactions and communication skills. In our sessions, I will help you explore and identify unhelpful thoughts, feelings and automatic reactions. We will work together to develop effective strategies and coping skills that work for you.
